Kailin

www.myspace.com/kailingarrity:

I've been singing since I was young and started playing the guitar when I was 14 after hearing my favorite singer, Bonnie Raitt, wailing on her Strat. I wrote my first song not long after that, will never play it again, however, it was a song indeed! I moved to the city in 2006 and formed a band, playing at various clubs in the village. Recently, I've recorded an EP, produced by good friend Chris Kuffner and am currently working on/writing an album with Academy Award winner Sam Bisbee, reading tons of books and watching great movies..  I perform at colleges and universities across the country @ www.whereskailin.com

Charisma and undeniable warmth are just two of the many qualities Martin Rivas brings to the stage with his infectiously melodic songs and beaming smile. This West Village and Lower East Side mainstay has made a name for himself in New York City as one of the hardest working musicians around, playing gigs nearly every night that feature both original work and longtime favorites.

Along with establishing the beloved Campfire series with drummer Craig Meyer which holds long-running weekly residencies at several top city venues, Rivas has also taken the stage at spots such as the legendary Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall, Joe's Pub, and The Living Room. He was a finalist in the prestigious New York Songwriters Circle 2009 contest for his incredible song, "North," in addition to releasing his fourth full-length CD, Sea of Clouds, this past August, an album that takes us on an intimate journey down the winding roads of emotion this singer has traveled over the years.

Martin is a true diamond in the rough, engaging the audience, singing from his soul, and reminding us all of the power and simplicity of raw, honest, music for music's sake.

But don't take our word for it... here's the word on the street:

"Martin Rivas just needs to be heard!" -bbqchickenrobot.com

"Sea of Clouds, the new album by Martin Rivas, is a satisying mix of
soul and innovation." -buzzine

Rachel

Rachel P is a New York City singer-songwriter who's about to change everything. With a rapidly growing fan base and having already shared the stage and toured with such acts as The Strokes, Lady Gaga, Marc Ford, Rachael Yamagata, Susan Tedeschi and The Toots & The Maytals...she's ready. Rachel's self-titled, debut EP is piano-driven soul-pop (saturated with distorted trombones and ambient synths). Best of all, Rachel's music is the ultimate remedy to our darkest moments: an infectious smile, a giving heart, a radiant soul, and a whole lot of love.

Here's what the people are saying:

"Singer-songwriter [Rachel P] craftly blends sweet delicateness with
pluck." NY Post

"Rachel is no less than a force to be reckoned with when put on stage (barefoot or not) behind her keys. Her gorgeous smile is as big as her voice, and her joy and spirit seemed to fly out over the crowd at the Blender, leaving everyone asking, "Who is this girl?.... She is expansive on stage.there is no other way to put it. Her sound - the entire band's sound - was enormous - not intimidated by the challenge of filling up a huge theatre but rather encouraged by it." - BUZZINE
